Think, Laugh, Cry Issue #38
The buttons you press may not change the outcome...but they change you. A sharp reflection on agency, illusion, and where real control begins.
THINK
At some point in your life, you have stood at an empty intersection, alone, and pressed the crosswalk button.
You pressed it once. Then again, harder. Then maybe a third time, as if force might persuade it. You stood there, watching the red hand glowing steadily, waiting for it to change. Waiting for permission. Waiting for control.
But what if the outcome had already been decided? What if the button was never connected to anything at all?
This is not a metaphor.
It is real.
