Norm MacDonald was a stand-up comic with a talent for saying something that sounded stupid, and then leaving you alone with it long enough to realize it might be the smartest thing you’d heard all week.

His delivery was always the same: flat, patient, almost bored, like he wasn’t even telling you a joke so much as reading you a fact that had been hiding in plain sight.
